All deaths are recorded against the date of death rather than the day the deaths were announced. The total announced file is updated weekly on a Thursday and contains information on the deaths of patients who have died in hospitals in England and either tested positive for COVID-19 or where no positive test result was received for COVID-19, but COVID-19 was mentioned on their death certificate. Some information on the different methodologies used to report on COVID-19 deaths by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) and the Office for National Statistics (ONS) has been made available by the the ONS and can be accessed via the link below: Data Notesĭata-notes-for-COVID-19-daily-deaths-publication Frequently Asked QuestionsĬOVID 19 Daily Deaths – Frequently Asked Questions CPNS user guideĪ guide for providers on how to submit data to the COVID-19 Patient Notification System (CPNS) can be found here: In this type of circumstance, a positive COVID-19 test result may be received subsequently, and the record would therefore be revised. An example of a revision may be where a death is reported to NHS England where no positive COVID-19 test result is recorded by the hospital trust, but where COVID-19 is later recorded on the death certificate. As a result, the data available is improved. NOTE: As part of a continual process to improve the quality and accuracy of the dataset recording COVID-19 -related deaths in English hospitals, revisions may be made to historic data included in each day’s publication. The Office for Statistics Regulation, on behalf of the UK Statistics Authority, has reviewed them against several key aspects of the Code of Practice for Statistics and regards them as consistent with the Code’s pillars of Trustworthiness, Quality and Value These statistics have been produced quickly in response to developing world events. This approach makes it possible to compile deaths data on a daily basis using up to date figures. These figures do not include deaths outside hospital, such as those in care homes. This results in a lag between a given date of death and exhaustive daily death figures for that day. Cases are only included in the data when the positive COVID-19 test result is received, or death certificate confirmed with COVID-19 mentioned. For example, a positive result for COVID-19 may occur days after confirmation of death. Interpretation of the figures should take into account the fact that totals by date of death are likely to be updated in future releases for more recent dates. When making comparisons over time these figures should not be included. This change has been introduced for deaths that occurred on 24th April 2020 and subsequently and is shown separately in the region data table only. This will be published alongside the previously named ‘weekly’ file, containing supplementary information such as breakdowns by pre-existing condition.įrom Tuesday 28 April 2020, NHS England started to report the number of patient deaths where there has been no COVID-19 positive test result, but where COVID-19 is documented as a direct or underlying cause of death on part 1 or part 2 of the death certification process. People with epilepsy often have changes in their brain waves, even when they're not having a seizure. An EEG records the brain's electrical activity via electrodes attached to the scalp. An MRI may not be needed if you had a CT scan at the time of the episode, and the CT didn't show any problems in the brain. The MRI machine can combine these slices to produce 3D images that may be viewed from many different angles. This technique uses a magnetic field and radio waves to create detailed, cross-sectional images of the brain. CT scans can reveal abnormalities in brain structure, including narrowed, overstretched or broken blood vessels and past strokes. Using special X-ray equipment, your doctor obtains images from many different angles and joins them together to show cross-sectional images of the brain and skull. Your health care provider might order one or a combination of these tests: The next step is testing to look for abnormalities in the brain's electrical activity and blood flow. 8/19/2023 0 Comments I paint it black lyricsIn 2012, the band celebrated its 50th anniversary. In 2008, the band ranked 10th on the Billboard Hot 100 All-Time Top Artists chart. Sticky Fingers (1971) was the first of eight consecutive No. Let It Bleed (1969) marked the first of five consecutive No. They have released 30 studio albums, 23 live albums and numerous compilations. Rolling Stone magazine ranked them fourth on the "100 Greatest Artists of All Time" list and their estimated record sales are above 250 million. The Rolling Stones were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989 and the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2004. Their musical focus shifted from covering blues songs to writing original material, a decision with which Jones did not agree. The band's primary songwriters, Jagger and Richards, assumed leadership after Andrew Loog Oldham became the group's manager. Released in 1966, the song has captivated audiences with its haunting melodies and thought-provoking lyrics. Paint It Black is a renowned song by the iconic rock band, The Rolling Stones. Author William Jones Reading 14 min Views 32 Published by. Brian Jones was the original leader of the group. Paint It Black Lyrics: Unveiling Darkness, Transformation. Stewart was removed from the official line-up in 1963 but continued as a touring member until his death in 1985. The first stable line-up consisted of Brian Jones (guitar, harmonica), Mick Jagger (lead vocals), Keith Richards (guitar, backing vocals), Bill Wyman (bass), Charlie Watts (drums), and Ian Stewart (piano). An 80% batting average is tremendous for any band, and in this case, it represents a bona fide return to fighting form for a group that was on the verge of dropping to a lower division. The Rolling Stones are an English rock band formed in London, England, in 1962. Those tracks are certainly talking points, but the others are what keep us listening to Some Girls. "Far Away Eyes," similarly, is a parody of classic country (Bakersfield division) that, despite Wood's estimable pedal steel, comes off as more sendup than homage. The laconic title track just doesn't measure up musically even before we get to the lyrical aside about the sexual proclivities of Black and other women it's gratuitous and seems aimed simply to court controversy and in the process undermines the song's intended satire. With all of this going for it, Some Girls doesn't need gimmicks - still, it does have a couple and not to good effect. And "Beast of Burden" has a slinky, teasing strut that lets Jagger play the part of a male suffragette, misunderstood and slightly vulnerable, but still no pushover. The smoothly defiant "Before They Make Me Run" - which Richards reportedly recorded over five sleepless days - offers one of the guitarist's strongest vocal contributions to the Stones' catalog. Their soulful, slightly drawling take on the Temptations' "Just My Imagination (Running Away With Me)" is aces, among the finest covers the Stones have put on record. The band isn't in blast furnace mode all the time here. There's an urgency, in other words, a cracking, ferocious one that we haven't heard from the Stones over, arguably, the better part of a decade. Watch the Rolling Stones' 'Miss You' Video And don't overlook the rhythm section of bassist Bill Wyman (on seven of the 10 tracks) and drummer Charlie Watts, who even in their "advanced" early 40s and late 30s, respectively, create a bedrock that lets their bandmates fire on all cylinders. On tracks such as "When the Whip Comes Down," "Lies," "Respectable" and especially the album-closing "Shattered," there's more snarl and bite in Mick Jagger's vocal performances while guitarists Keith Richards and Ron Wood fully realize their potency as a tandem, sounding like kids in a basement trying to squeeze one more song out before their parents shut them down for the night. It may sound like "dreaded" disco, but the hip-swaying song, with its meaty bass groove and Sugar Blue's sweet harmonica, sends up a flare that the Stones are revived and excited, if not re-staking the nefarious claim as the World's Greatest Rock 'n' Roll Band then certainly making a case that it belongs in the discussion.ĭisco may have given us "Miss You" but it's clear that punk rock - whose bands lambasted the Stones' bloat while stealing their attitude and licks - pushed the forebears this time. The throbbing dance gait of "Miss You" that kicks off Some Girls makes all reports of the band's demise seem overstated. 8/19/2023 0 Comments Big sky episodes timeHer way of making right the fact that she ignored Walter's warnings all those years ago and laid down beside a murderer. She was ready to take on that burden, damn the consequences, and while it's not likely to absolve her of any sins, it was her way of making amends. But Sunny decided to kill the man who'd done so much harm because she felt like it was her responsibility. He was dead to rights anyway, about to go away for the rest of his life. Because it's Big Sky, things went terribly wrong (and yet another man was beaten to certain death but survived with nary a memory issue!) before Sunny had a choice to make. She showed her love in different ways, but Buck was still at the top of the hill, and while she was willing to lie to him and go behind his back, he was still her number one.īut in the end, you could say she chose Walter, finally done with Buck and ready to kiss that part of her life goodbye literally. Sure, she kept Walter close by, but he was always at a distance. Buck presented as this virtuous family man who committed himself to Sunny and Cormac, crafting this perfect image of an All-American family that Sunny willingly bought into for years. So much of the way she treated Walter was wrapped up in this sham of a life she was living with a serial killer. But with each lie and death piled up, Sunny finally decided to choose others over her beloved husband. : Honestly? I'd probably do the same thing.Jenny: Honestly? I'd probably do the same thing. Buck wouldn't hurt Sunny, at least not physically, but what else would he do to get her to stay with him?Īnd there's no trusting Sunny Barnes on a surface level, so while I desperately wanted to believe that she was through with Buck and wanted to help, there was a little nagging voice in my brain saying, 'Sunny CAN NOT be trusted.' And it's a sentiment that her own son backed up, so I wasn't wrong to think it! Their dance during this hour was anxiety-inducing because I couldn't help but wonder what either of them was capable of at any minute. The Sunny and Buck dynamic has been full of betrayals and secrets, and it's a wonder why Buck thought that after everything he'd done and everything they'd been through, Sunny would blindly follow him to the ends of the earth, but Buck was also extremely unwell. He threw himself right into the fire, willing to do just about anything to find his little girl.īuck has made it increasingly clear that even in his twisted, murderous mind, there is one person he can't do life without, and it's Sunny Barnes. And those traits were on full display here as the search for Emily and Denise ramped up.īeau has been a great sheriff, and while he probably shouldn't have been quite so involved in an official capacity due to his relationships with the victims, there was no way anyone was going to tell him that. He lives a relatively quiet life, devoted to his daughter and job. On the surface, Beau really isn't a complicated man. And it started with Jensen Ackles's introduction as the vibrant and tormented Beau Arlen. I could write a review just praising the actors because they made this season come alive. And adding in the cases of the week was a reliable way to escape the central storyline in a way that allowed it to remain exciting and not stale and oversaturated.īut aside from just the stories, Big Sky Season 3 will go down as the best season to date due to the strong casting and their incredible work. The series' idea to focus on families has always worked well for them, from the Kleinsasser's to the Bhullar's and now the Barnes family. 8/19/2023 0 Comments Zebra shark diagramLivers are processed for vitamins and there is a large market for fins for shark-fin soup and oriental medicine. They are sold fresh and dried-salted for human consumption and for fish meal. They are taken by inshore fisheries using bottom trawls, gillnets, or baited hooks. They are heavily fished throughout their range except in Australia. The reason for the listing is largely human activities. Zebra sharks are listed as vulnerable to extinction on the IUCN Red List. The lifespan in the wild is reported to be 25 to 30 years. When a food item is encountered, the combination of a small mouth, thick throat, and gill muscles give the shark the ability to forcibly suck up prey. The flexible body of a zebra shark gives it the ability to wiggle into narrow cracks, crevices, and channel in reefs to search for hidden prey. Open-mouthed and propped up on their pectoral fins with mouth and gills held above the substrate, they rest facing into the current.Īlthough usually solitary, zebra sharks do form loose aggregations of 20 to 50 sharks in shallow coastal areas during the breeding season. Nocturnal sharks, they spend daylight hours lying on the ocean bottom, often in passes and channels through a reef crest where tidal flow brings in oxygen-bearing seawater. In areas where there is a suitable current they have been observed ‘surfing’, adjusting their fins to remain almost motionless in the water column. This shark species is slow-swimming, moving with a pronounced eel-like wiggle. The zebra-striped pup is 20 to 26 cm (7.9 to 10 in) when it emerges from the egg case and is immediately independent, able to swim and hunt on its own. Fine, hair-like fibers that cover both sides of the egg case anchor the case to the substrate where it will remain for about six and a half months (if not eaten by a predator). The female releases one to four large dark brown or purplish-black egg cases that are about 17 cm (6.7 in) long and 5 cm (2 in) in diameter. Zebra sharks reach maturity when the males are 1.5-1.8 m (5-6 ft) and the females 1.7 m (5.6 ft) in length. Their flattened teeth with three raised points (cusps) and short jaws work together to grip, crush, and pulverize shelled invertebrates. Their preferred prey is snails and bivalves but they also eat crabs, shrimps, and small bony fishes. These sharks are from 2-3.5 m (5.5 to 11.5 ft) in length with an average of 2.6 m (9 ft). Their body ridges start to form and their bars fade, becoming black dots or open dark circles on a yellow to cream or light gray background, the adult coloration. At this time they begin to develop their adult features. They change coloration when they are 50 to 70 cm (20 to 27 in) in length. Juveniles are dark brown or blackish with narrow pale yellow or white vertical bars and/or spots. The large pectoral fins are very rounded. There are two dorsal fins immediately adjacent to each other with the first much larger than the second. It has a deep terminal notch but the lower lobe is only slightly notched. The caudal fin is almost as long as the body. A ‘face’ is formed on the ventral side of the head by the blunt snout, prominent nares, a small transverse mouth, and short barbels at the front of the snout. Prominent longitudinal ridges run down their dorsal surface and on the flanks. Physical CharacteristicsĪdults have a cylindrical body with a broad head and small mouth. Juvenile zebra sharks inhabit deeper waters than adults seeking depths of 50 m (165 ft) to hide from predators. There is an unconfirmed report of a zebra shark living in fresh water in the Philippines. HabitatĪdult zebra sharks prefer inshore marine or brackish waters with depths from intertidal to 30 m (99 ft) where there are reefs and sandy, rubble, or coral bottoms. Very rarely, though, you'll hear a Super Mario Bros. These two games probably account for the vast, vast majority of Arcade Sounds used on TV. And, this is Donkey Kong on the same system. If you're too young to remember what Pac-Man was like on the Atari 2600, check this out. Thirdly, primitive game graphics can be a visual shorthand for "not real" in cartoons, which are already moving, simplified graphics and, more generally, this can be done to avoid having the sounds and voices from a video game become confused with actual events onscreen, since modern real-world video games are designed to sound realistic. While it wouldn't be hard to toss in some footage and sound from a modern game, it may cost quite a bit to get the rights to do so. As newer and newer writers enter the industry to replace the old guard, they're looking back either on (relatively) newer games from their own childhoods or present-day games that they play themselves as a hobby, putting this trope on track to becoming a Discredited Trope. If not "beat the level"-type games, expect Ultra Super Death Gore Fest Chainsawer 3000 for those writers who remembered Doom or Mortal Kombat (both again from the early '90s). Most screenwriters remembered video games as simplistic arcade games from The '80s or from the NES such as Pac-Man or Donkey Kong, and so that's what they continued to write into TV shows and films, long after video games had since moved on to more sophisticated gameplay and storytelling. It was most prevalent in the early 2000s, and was a clear result of Two Decades Behind. In short, this is The Theme Park Version of video games. If a storyline is mentioned, it will only be as deep as " save the galaxy from aliens." It also seems that the only way to play these games is to mash all the buttons as fast as possible while flailing wildly on the control stick, with the player barely managing to stay in their seat. Characters will talk about "beating the level" or "getting the high score", which are elements tied more to arcades than home consoles. Characters talking about video games will similarly seem out-of-touch. If video game sounds are heard, it will be bleeping Arcade Sounds. Colonization should take place in a room where you can at least read a book in. Shiitakes are a good example of one that absolutely LOVE light. Some mushrooms do like direct light though. Although, they don't like direct sunlight, they do like shady areas that get plenty of ambient light. Most people in reality think that mushrooms don't like light and only grow in the dark. This is something that is a hard idea to shake for some people. 3 - Mushrooms don't like light / colonization in darkness Mycelium produces heat, which causes the foil to condensate, and that condensation can compromise the dry verm layer by getting it wet, which can allow things to germinate that you don't want to germinate. The reason for this is because the temp of the mycelium is actually warmer than the ambient room temp. The foil causes condensation as the mycelium grows. The foil also, blocks the GE holes and thus doesn't allow for gas exchange to happen. It pretty much makes it not work as it is supposed to. Condensation on the foil lid can be a vector for contamns, and can cause the dry verm layer to get damp and thus contaminate/disturb the dry verm layer. But you remove foil on any jars after inoculation. I see this more with PF Tek versus grains. They can be put on a clean shelf in any room. Jars can be colonized at 65 to 76 Fahrenheit or 18 to 25 Celsius. Regardless of what kind of incubator it is, be it an egg incubator, a tub in tub incubator, or some other sort of contraption like a heating mat to keep stuff warm. |
